The web form below uses a dynamic dropdown for the Company Name field.
Without a dynamic dropdown, it would be easy for someone to add an employee to "Mircosoft" instead of "Microsoft." Then when the time comes to report on how many employees are at Microsoft, only one would show up instead of two. These user errors are a common cause of inaccurate reporting.
With the dynamic dropdown, user input is less mistake-prone and much more user-friendly. As you type in the field, anything in the database that matches what you type will show up in the dynamic dropdown. You can click on the option that you desire, use the up and down arrow keys to browse through the options, or you can keep typing to narrow your search. If what you are looking for does not come up, then you can add it by submitting the form with the new value. In this way, the dynamic dropdown is both user friendly and versatile.
