Ethix Systems worked closely with us to create a web design that is clean and functional. They were always willing to revise the design until we had something that we really liked. We were quite pleased with their work.

Vision: The Computer Science Department at Saint Vincent College wanted a uniform website for their department that would be easy to navigate and search the wealth of knowledge the site has to offer.
Problem: The website in its original state was not easily maintained due to a lack of organization. There was often inconsistency between pages, and the navigation was not very intuitive.
Solution: Ethix Systems redesigned the website to use a more user-friendly navigation. Ethix Systems also developed a standardized site design and a new file management structure to improve future maintenance of the site and to allow new content to be added more easily.
While computer applications have improved many tasks previously done by hand, they still have not been able to effectively remove the overwhelming amount of paperwork that is still necessary in most businesses. Finding space for paperwork, storing it effectively, and finding it quickly again when it is needed are common problems in the workplace. New technologies have reduced some of these problems by digitizing paperwork, but there are still significant roadblocks. One of these roadblocks is the existence of specialized paper forms. Many vendors develop specialized company forms that allow data collection to be streamlined and consistent. However, these forms are usually difficult to understand and to complete for someone unfamiliar with them. Some good examples of specialized forms are government tax forms. These forms are highly standardized making them very difficult for the average person to complete accurately. However, through web-based dynamic PDF generation, a company can use a simplified web form to gather data from a user in a way that they can understand. The application can then digitally fill out the specialized form based on the information gathered. Not only does this make the form easier to fill out, but these PDF documents can then be printed, stored, and archived for easy retrieval. We have developed a small demo to show how some of the basic questions on an IRS W-4 form can be automatically filled out based on information supplied through a custom web form. This is a relatively simple process that can be created with or without an existing document template.
